The 'Give it your Max' fund was set up as a lasting memory to Max Stotesbury, aged 18, who tragically died in a car accident in October 2004.

Max was a talented and keen tennis player and during the holidays assisted coaches at the Wimbledon Junior Tennis Initiative, which encouraged children from local schools to learn to play with qualified tuition.

In association with the Tennis Foundation, the fund will be directed towards encouraging children, aged between 4 and 9, who may not otherwise have the opportunity, to take up the game of tennis. The Initiative also supports the Dan Maskell Trust which assists tennis players with disabilities - primarily wheelchair.

As well as the Reading Communty Tennis programme, another scheme that has been a huge success is the Wimbledon Junior Tennis Initiative. Now in its sixth year this scheme has given nearly 70,000 kids their first tennis experience.
